Welcome to the grounds of Wild Poplars
a place to listen and explore intimacy with life…
Hidden behind those tall poplars (aspens) lies a landscape drawn from life - mine, yours and that of many other creatures. The poetry it’s prompted has been gathering itself into different rooms or spaces for decades and here it is, available free for you to listen to.
To-date you’ve only had access to poems in print, on safe subjects, like tea. Now I can no longer ignore the possibility that the larger body of unruly, wild and provocative poems want your company.
As our physical environments change in the face of ecological and societal upheaval, poetry and rhyme can lead us back to our ‘heart-scapes’. May be they can even forge a path through a thicket better than heady prose. They offer the opportunity to be alone whilst holding the hand of another. Within The Grounds
Here you can read and listen to rhymes, poems and music which live in ‘The Grounds’ of Wild Poplars, including The Rhymers Roost where spending 6 days a week during my #12weekrhymespeak project.
In a rambling mix of purpose-built outbuildings, The Architect’s Shed, the Biodanza Barn and Art Studio poetic inhabitants prompt creativity.
Rising from its Foundations, rooms will appear in which to feed, make love, rest or discover riches!
Secret spaces in which to discover imaginary poetic friends and invisible guides.
